Saints Baseball Inks Two in Early Signing Period

DAHLONEGA, GA  – North Georgia College & State University Head Baseball Coach Tom Cantrell and his staff have announced the signing of two players for the 2010 season.

Kenny Bellavance and Matt Adams both signed a national letter of intent during the NCAA early signing period officially making them a part of the 2010 North Georgia Baseball Family.

Kenny Bellavance joins the North Georgia Baseball team from Parkview High School. Bellavance hit .370 with two home runs during his junior season while having a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage and playing centerfield for Chan Brown and the Panthers.  Kenny was named the Gwinnett County Dugout Club’s player of the month for April for his outstanding performance on the field.

Matt Adams comes to the North Georgia Athletic Program from Brookwood High School.  Matt played a major role in helping Rick Howard’s team win the 5A State Championship during the 2008 season.  Matt was 7-0 for the season with an ERA of 1.31 with three of those wins coming in the state playoffs.  Matt was named to the First Team All-Gwinnett County Team for his accomplishments during the 2008 season.

“We have two outstanding student athletes but two better young men joining our progam,” Cantrell said. “We have enjoyed spending time with these players and their families through the recruiting process and look forward to having them a part of the North Georgia tradition.”
