Saints Win Third Straight, Take Down Newberry 6-3

NEWBERRY, SC - The North Georgia men's tennis team won their third straight match on Monday afternoon taking down Newberry 6-3 at the Cannon Tennis Courts.

The Saints (3-1) continue to play well on the road, while the Wolves (2-3) dropped their second straight home match to a Peach Belt Conference opponent. 

After losing the No.1 doubles match, North Georgia rebounded by taking the last two as the duos of Mathew Guida/Rodrigo Magan and Giovani Santos/Brandon Sloan cruised to victories.

The Saints won three singles matches in straight sets as Santos, Sloan and Mario Mesquita handled their oppents with relative ease. 

Guida earned the other singles win for the Saints taking down Mohammed Chakir in three-sets.

The Saints return to action on Saturday, February 18, when they host Stillman in their 2012 home opener. First serve is scheduled for 2:30 pm.
