Sarah Phillips to Play for Team Canada in Pan American Games

DAHLONEGA, GA – Former North Georgia softball standout and current graduate assistant Sarah Phillips returns to the field this month as a member of the Canadian National Team at the Pan American Games.

After making her debut for Team Canada over the summer at the Canadian Open Fastpitch Championships and the World Cup of Softball, Phillips will now compete with the squad at the XVI Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico. 

The Pan American Games will be held October 17-23 in Guadalajara, Mexico, and will feature nearly 6,000 athletes from 42 nations around the world. Fans wishing to follow the Canadian National Team during the event can do so by clicking HERE.

In July at the Scotiabank Canadian Open Fastpitch International Championships, Phillips saw action in eight games for the Canadian National Team, posting a 2-2 record with an earned run average of 2.92.

In her time at North Georgia, Phillips led the Saints to three straight NCAA Division II College World Series appearances, including 44 straight wins in the circle during the 2010 season.
