Burson signs eight for 2008-09 season

North Georgia to open season at powerhouse Delta State

DAHLONEGA, GA - North Georgia College & State University head coach Buffie Burson has signed eight players for the 2008-09 season. The Lady Saints are coming off a season that saw them ranked as high as #20 in the nation and #1 in a pair of NCAA South Atlantic Regional Polls.

"I feel very fortunate to bring in eight very talented players to the Lady Saint family, head coach Buffie Burson said. "Each player brings a winning attitude and competitive spirit to an already seasoned veteran group of players. We added four post players, and four perimeter players who I feel have the ability to step in and contribute immediately."

Scored 1000 points as a junior.

Played in all 30 games as a freshmen for UTM and started 9 games
Led UTM in blocked shots
At Woodstock HS holds records for career blocked shots, single game and single season blocked shots and was an All-County selection

Selected All-County on two different occasions
Led team to three Region Championships
Region champion and All-County selection in Track & Field

ARI’ELLE DURHAM, Marietta High School, Post
Prepped and started three seasons at West Bloomfield High School in Michigan prior to senior season at Marietta.

Senior season helped lead Marietta HS to Elite 8 finish averaging a double double during the playoffs

STEPHANIE BROWNLEE, Tift County High School, Post
Led Tift Co. to a Region Championship and State playoffs averaging 8.8 ppg and 5.5 rpg

KARI McCANN, Chattahoochee High School, Guard
Three sport athlete at Chattahoochee (bball, Lacrosse, Volleyball)
Led team in scoring and to a Region Championship & Sweet 16 finish
All-Region Team

DANIELLE SEELEY, Cleveland State Community College, Guard
Attended Martin Luther King High School in Atlanta, Georgia

Helped lead team to State Championship
