Women’s Golf Moves up One Spot, Finishes 12th in World Golf Village Invite

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The University of North Georgia women's golf team wrapped up its first tournament of the 2013 spring schedule, the World Golf Village Invitational hosted by Flagler College, in 12th place as a team with a team combined score of 686. The tournament was contested at the Slammer & Squire Golf Course.

Seminole State College of Florida (592) claimed the tournament team crown by 19 strokes over second-place Flagler, which finished with a score of 611. The University of North Carolina Pembroke finished third with a score of 616.

UNC Pembroke's Meghan Moore shot a 70 in the second round and finished with a two-round score of 142 to claim the tournament individual title by three strokes over Chanya Angwarawong and Joanna Yoo from Seminole State.

For the Saints, senior Catalina Olarte bounced back on the second day with a 76 to finish with a 159 stroke count, ending the two rounds tied for 23rd overall.

Casey Truelove shot identical 86's in both rounds to finish in a tie for 51st while LeeAnn Noble ended the tournament with a 94 in the second round to finish 64th.

Freshmen Anna Belle Higgins and Bridget Sandy rounded out the competing five for North Georgia with identical 183's to finish their debut for the Saints in a tie for 65th.
