Compliance
INTRODUCTION
Welcome to the North Georgia College & State University Compliance home page! The goal of this site is to provide our boosters, alumni, fans, coaches, prospects and student-athletes information regarding the rules and regulations of the NCAA. While not all inclusive, it is meant to provide guidance in many of the situations you may encounter and should help you avoid inadvertently violating NCAA policies. Compliance of the rules and regulations is essential to creating a winning environment for all of NGCSU's athletic teams.
ASK BEFORE YOU ACT
It is the responsibility of every individual associated with North Georgia Athletics to be educated. If questions arise, we ask that you contact our Compliance Coordinator, Mr. Jason Pruitt , at (706) 867-3277 or by email. Asking questions before acting ensures that the eligibility of our department and our student-athletes is not jeopardized.
ATHLETICS MISSION STATEMENT
Consistent with the University's mission, commitment and goals, the NGCSU Intercollegiate Athletics Program is designed and committed to fully accommodate the needs and interests of our student-athletes in their pursuit of excellence and in their preparation for meaningful lives and careers.
The University's dedication to excellence is an integral part of the Department of Athletics' goals and objectives and a primary consideration in our service to student-athletes and the University community. The Intercollegiate Athletics Program, as an integral part of NGCSU, strives to maintain a strong athletic program involving the most academically and athletically talented student-athletes in the context of the University's mission as a student-centered institution that nurtures a rewarding collegiate experience. The Department of Athletics is committed to providing an educational experience that promotes the development of the whole person intellectually, physically, socially, and emotionally. Through these offerings, the Department of Athletics will play a vital part in the personal formation and development of student-athletes, preparing them for leadership, citizenship and service in our society.
The University's pursuit of excellence is fostered through the Department of Athletics' commitment to the highest standards of integrity, ethics, and honesty. The Intercollegiate Athletics Program shall supplement the student-athletes' academic pursuits in an encouraging environment in which the principles of amateur athletics, fair play, sportsmanship, ethical conduct, and fiscal responsibility are emphasized in compliance with University, Conference, and NCAA policies (including, but not limited to, equitable opportunity for women and underrepresented minorities or groups). The promotion of the general welfare of the student-athletes and fans will guide all activities.
