North Georgia Baseball ranked #20 in final poll
Saints' unforgettable season included trip to South Atlantic Regional
DAHLONEGA, GA - The North Georgia College & State University baseball team received a ranking of #20 in the final College Baseball Magazine NCAA Division II Poll of the 2008 season, putting a lid on one of the most remarkable turnaround seasons in school history.
Heading into April, the Saints found themselves just two games over the .500 mark at 18-16 overall and two games under in Peach Belt Conference play at 8-10. After returning home from a three-game sweep at the hands of Francis Marion University, the North Georgia started a journey that saw them win 23 of their last 26 games to claim the Peach Belt Conference Tournament Championship and a birth in the NCAA South Atlantic Regional.
The Saints ended the season with a record of 41-21 and a final ranking of #20, one of six rankings North Georgia received during the 2008 season.
