Saints Baseball Inks Two in Early Signing Period
DAHLONEGA, GA – North Georgia College
& State University Head Baseball Coach Tom Cantrell and his
staff have announced the signing of two players for the 2010
season.
Kenny Bellavance and Matt Adams both signed a national letter of
intent during the NCAA early signing period officially making them
a part of the 2010 North Georgia Baseball Family.
Kenny Bellavance joins the North Georgia Baseball team from
Parkview High School. Bellavance hit .370 with two home runs during
his junior season while having a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage
and playing centerfield for Chan Brown and the Panthers.
Kenny was named the Gwinnett County Dugout Club’s player of
the month for April for his outstanding performance on the
field.
Matt Adams comes to the North Georgia Athletic Program from
Brookwood High School. Matt played a major role in helping
Rick Howard’s team win the 5A State Championship during the
2008 season. Matt was 7-0 for the season with an ERA of 1.31
with three of those wins coming in the state playoffs. Matt
was named to the First Team All-Gwinnett County Team for his
accomplishments during the 2008 season.
“We have two outstanding student athletes but two better
young men joining our progam,” Cantrell said. “We have
enjoyed spending time with these players and their families through
the recruiting process and look forward to having them a part of
the North Georgia tradition.”
