DAHLONEGA, GA – The 17th-ranked North Georgia baseball team pounded out 14 hits Saturday afternoon to win their second straight, taking down Mars Hill 6-5 at Bob Stein Stadium in non-conference action.

The Saints move to 4-3 with the victory, while Mars Hill falls to 7-3 on the season. The two teams will play the final game of the three-game series tomorrow afternoon with first pitch set for 1:00 p.m. as North Georgia looks to complete the weekend sweep.

North Georgia went right to work out of the gate, picking up a pair of first-inning runs on a solo long ball by Jordan Erisman, and an RBI single off the bat of Adam Baker to make it 2-0.

Mars Hill added single runs in the fourth and fifth innings as Matt Oleski singled home a run and Mike Kitt provided a sacrifice fly.

North Georgia maufactured a pair of runs in the fourth inning, courtesy of two sacrifice flies off the bat of JD Burgess and Chad Sage as the Saints took a 4-2 lead into the seventh inning.

With Tyler Musslewhite pitching into the seventh inning, the Lions were on the prowl, and Corry DiBiase took full advantage with a pair of runners on base, driving a ball over the fence in left field to give Mars Hill their first lead of the day at 5-4.

The Saints would come right back in the bottom of the inning and after a lead off single and sacrifice bunt, Andre Airich came through in the clutch, sending a blast over the left field fence to give North Georgia a 6-5 lead that they would never relinquish.

Blake Hobby (1-1) picked up the victory in relief, tossing 2.0 innings of scoreless ball, while Justin Yackee came on in the ninth to pick up his first save of the season. Brian Wolf sufferes the loss for Mars Hill, going just 0.1 inning and giving up two hits and two runs. 

The two teams will go right back at it Sunday afternoon, capping off the three-game series with finale scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
