Andre Airich Named Moe's Athlete of the Week
DAHLONEGA, GA – Senior second baseman Andre Airich
has been named the Moe’s Southwest Grill North Georgia
Athlete of the Week after leading the Saints to four wins last week
the sports information office announced on Monday morning.
Airich hit .476 last week with 10 runs batted in to lead the
Saints to four wins, including a three-game weekend sweep over
Montevallo. The senior tallied three hits and a run batted in
against Carson-Newman in a two-game mid-week series against the
Eagles, before exploding with seven hits in three games, including
nine runs batted in.
He belted his fourth home run of the season in the first inning of
the second game, a three-run blast to give the Saints a three-run
lead in the 7-3 victory. He had an on-base percentage of .560, and
was perfect in the field, recording 11 putouts without an error at
second base.
North Georgia, currently ranked 17th in the nation, return to
action on Tuesday afternoon, traveling to West Georgia for a
matchup against the Wolves. First pitch is set for 5:00 p.m. in
Carrollton, Georgia.
