Rearick Named Rawlings/ABCA All-American
DAHLONEGA, GA
– North Georgia left-handed pitcher Chris Rearick has
received another award as the senior has been named a Rawlings/ABCA
Third-Team All-American announced last week in conjunction with the
Division II World Series.
Rearick is now the third baseball player in North Georgia history
to be named an NCAA All-American, following Brian
Lauderdale’s Third-Team selection in 2006, and Rob
Flanigan’s First-Team pick in 2008.
After being named the PBC Pitcher of the Year and the
Rawlings/ABCA Southeast Region Pitcher of the Year, the senior from
Pooler, Ga., garners All-American honors as a pitcher on the
Third-Team.
He finished the 2010 campaign with a 9-2 record, notching 99
strikeouts in 98.1 innings of work. Rearick had a 3.20 earned run
average in 14 starts, while opponents hit .237 against him. He
allowed just 25 extra base hits and tossed one complete game.
The Rawlings/ABCA All-America team is voted on and administered by
the American Baseball Coaches Association of America.
