Erisman and Hobby Named Peach Belt All-Tournament

DAHLONEGA, GA – A pair of North Georgia players were named to the 2011 Peach Belt Conference All-Tournament team following the conclusion of the championship game Thursday afternoon at historic Golden Park in Columbus, Georgia.

Third-baseman Jordan Erisman and starting pitcher Blake Hobby received PBC All-Tournament honors after the Saints came out on top in their first two games and were eliminated just one game away from making their third championship game appearance in the last four years. UNC Pembroke defeated Augusta State 2-1 in the title game as programs made their first-ever championship game appearance.

In the final game of the tournament's opening day, junior right-hander Blake Hobby turned in one of the most impressive pitching performances of the entire tournament, tossing a complete-game three-hit shutout to lead North Georgia to a 5-0 victory over 21st-ranked Armstrong Atlantic. The Macon, Ga., native picked up the shutout one day after being named to the Peach Belt First-Team All-Conference squad.

Jordan Erisman was also named to the All-Tournament team after collecting six hits in four games and turning in a .333 batting average and .368 on-base percentage. He turned in a three-hit performance in the opener, including a solo shot to left for one of his two RBI's in the game. He then put a pair of hits on the board with an RBI against Lander University in game two of the tournament, before coming back with a single base knock against Augusta State on Tuesday evening.

North Georgia ends the 2011 season with a 34-20 overall record, including wins in 10 of their last 13 games heading into the Peach Belt Conference Tournament.
