DAHLONEGA, GA – With the North Georgia baseball team less than two months away from their first game of the 2012 season, head coach Tom Cantrell has announced an exclusive partnership with Baden Sports to be the official bat of the Saints.

Two years ago Baden Sports undertook entering into the bat business with research and design and they have emerged with the Axe bat technology that Baden expects to expand exponentially in the coming years.

We certainly believe the axe technology gives the hitter a better chance to perform at a higher level, Baden's director of promotion Greg Barton said. "Our latest introduction has been the BBCOR and we couldn't be happier to lead this product with the North Georgia baseball program."

Baden Sports has been a main stay in the sporting goods industry for 32 years and they have flourished with innovation of product and value to their consumers.

"This partnership with Baden gives us a perfect chance to use the newest technology in the bat industry," Cantrell said. "Better bat speed and more solid contact is the main reason we chose the bat here at North Georgia."

The Saints will open the 2012 season with seven straight roads games, highlighted with tournaments at Valdosta State and USC Aiken. Cantrell's squad will make their home debut on February 18-19, playing host to Northern Kentucky in a three-game series at Bob Stein Stadium.
