DAHLONEGA, GA – Mother Nature refused to let the North Georgia baseball and softball teams finish off their weekends as rain and thunderstorms covered most of the southeast over the last 12 hours.

The North Georgia baseball team was fresh off a doubleheader sweep of Northern Kentucky and needed a Sunday afternoon win to run their winning streak to seven games, but the Saints will have to wait for another day to make that happen.

North Georgia will now be thrust into Peach Belt Conference action next weekend, welcoming 13th-ranked UNC Pembroke (10-1) to town for a three-game series. The two squads will battle in a doubleheader Saturday afternoon before coming back and playing a single game on Sunday. First pitch is slated for 1:00 p.m. on both days at Bob Stein Stadium.

The 3rd-ranked Saints softball team is 9-1 to start the season after splitting a pair of games on Saturday at the Ringer UAH Charger Chillout, but tournament officials cancelled Sunday's action, sending 24 teams packing back to their respective schools.

The Saints will now turn their attention to Wednesday's non-conference doubleheader, playing host to Belmont Abbey at Haines & Carolyn Hill Stadium. First pitch is slated for 2:00 p.m.
