Saints steal 76-70 road win at Clayton State
North Georgia sets school record for most PBC wins
MORROW, GA – North Georgia College &
State University staked themselves to a 19-point lead early in the
second half and held on for a 76-70 win at Clayton State University
Wednesday evening in Peach Belt Conference action.
Clayton State (12-12, 8-9) had a furious comeback late in the game, pulling to within four points in the final minute, but Xavier Trice sank three free-throws in the final eight seconds to give North Georgia their fourth straight win. With the win, the Saints capture their first 11 win season in conference play since entering the Peach Belt in 2004-05. In their inaugural season, North Georgia recorded 10 wins, but with a season sweep over Clayton State, the Saints eclipse that mark and will look for win number 12 and a season sweep over 8th-ranked Augusta State University Saturday afternoon.

Andre Morgan then hit two straight 3-point baskets to give North Georgia a 56-38 lead at the 13:09 mark.
