Saints Take 16th Place at Lander Bearcat Invitational

GREENWOOD, SC – The North Georgia men's golf team wrapped up the 2012 Lander Bearcat Invitational on Tuesday afternoon firing a team total of 314 at the par-72 Greenwood Golf Course en route to a 16th place finish.

The Saints struggled in the final round at Greenwood shooting their highest team total since round two of the AASU Pirate Invitational nearly a month ago. 

The No. 15-ranked USC Aiken Pacers ran away with the tournament beating second-place Georgia College by 19 strokes. Columbus State finished in third place, while Carson-Newman and Newberry rounded out the top five.

Flagler's Joel Dahlrnburg earned individual honors with a final round 76 to finish three strokes ahead of Belmont Abbey's Adam Hedges and Newberry's Jon Weiss who tied for second. There was a logjam at fourth place as four players finished tied with three round totals of 214. 

Aaron George and Howard Duffin each finished in a tie for 51st place with tournament totals of 230. George shot a final round 78, while Duffin capped the tourney with a six-over-par 78.

Will Brackett finished three strokes behind Duffin and George with a three round total of 233 to finish in a tie for 64th. Grant Rish wrapped up the 2012 Lander Invitational with a six-over-par 78 to finish in tie for 66th. 

Matt Rochlin shot a final round 83 to finish in sole possession of 89th place.

North Georgia returns to the links in two weeks when they travel to Columbus, Georgia, to take part in the Peach Belt Conference Championship contested at Callaway Gardens April 9-10.
