Saints Take Down Georgia Southwestern to Open Peach Belt Action

DAHLONEGA, GA – The North Georgia men's tennis ran their winning streak to six on Saturday as they took down Georgia Southwestern 7-2 in their Peach Belt Conference opener at The North Georgia Tennis Complex.

The Saints (6-1, 1-0 PBC) won their Peach belt conference opener for the first time since the 2005 season, while the Hurricanes (2-3, 0-1 PBC) dropped their second straight road match.

The Saints got off to a quick start taking two of the doubles matches as the duo of Felipe Friedrich/Matues Camasmie raced to an easy 8-0 victory, while Rodrigo Magan/Matheus Guida won their match 8-5. 

In singles action, Friedrich, Camasmie and Guida cruised to straight set victories, while Giovani Santos and Mario Mesquita grinded out their wins.

North Georgia returns to the courts on Wednesday, February 29, when they host instate rival Columbus State. First serve is set for 2:00 pm.
