Patriots Rally in Singles Play, Take Down Saints 6-3

FLORENCE, SC – The North Georgia men's tennis team dropped their second straight Peach Belt Conference match on Sunday afternoon, falling 6-3 to Francis Marion at the Kassab Courts. 

The Saints (14-6, 3-5 PBC) have now lost three of their last four conference matches, while the Patriots (19-5, 6-3 PBC) improved to 5-3 at home on the season.

North Georgia got off to a hot start taking two of three in doubles action, but struggled in singles play, losing five of the six matches to suffer the loss. 

The duos of Rodrigo Magan/Matheus Guida and Brandon Sloan/Giovani Santos each won their doubles matches 8-6 at No. 2 and No. 3 respectively.

Felipe Friedrich and Mateus Camasmie fell 8-5 to the No. 5 doubles team in the country. 

In singles action, Camasmie was the lone Saints player to win, taking down his opponent 6-3, 6-4 in straight sets at No. 2 singles, while Guida dropped a three-set thriller at No. 3 singles.

The Saints wrap up the regular season on April 17, when they host Augusta State in Peach Belt Conference action.
