Mixed Rifle Edges Host The Citadel For Second Place At SEARC Event
CHARLESTON, South Carolina – (UNGAthletics.com) - The Citadel rifle team hosted a match at the Inouye Marksmanship Center when five members of the Southeastern Air Rifle Conference (SEARC) come to Charleston for the third league match of the season on Saturday. In the NCAA results, the University of North Georgia finished second behind #16 NC State University with a team aggregate score of 4,481 edging host The Citadel by five points.
Ruthanne Conner continued her skilled marksmanship as the freshman tied for first place in the air division (581 points) before losing the top honor in a tie breaker. Conner also took third in small bore with a personal record of 571.
Casadie Bragg also performed well as she registered a sixth place finish in both the air (574) and small bore (565) divisions. Additionally, teammate Luke Duncan netted a 12th place finish in small bore with a score of 551.
In the SEARC results, UNG finished third out of five teams.
North Georgia returns to action on October 26 when the Nighthawks host Virginia Military Institute at the COL Raymond C. Hamilton Shooting Range on the Dahlonega campus.
