Softball Selected By PBC as Sportsmanship Winner
AUGUSTA, GA – The North Georgia softball
team has been selected as the Team Sportsmanship Award Winner by
the Peach Belt Conference, season-long program to recognize hard
work, character, and integrity by each sport.
The Saints are currently the #1 team in the country, continuing a
banner season that has seen them take the Peach Belt Conference
regular season championship, the PBC Tournament championship, and
the Southeast Dahlonega Regional Championship. North Georgia will
host Carson-Newman College over the weekend in a best of three
series with the winner advancing to the Division II College World
Series.
The Peach Belt Conference presents an award following each
championship season to the team in that sport that best exemplifies
sportsmanship and generally conducts themselves with a high degree
of integrity, character and class.
The team sportsmanship award is selected by other teams who compete
in that sport. Points are awarded based on how each team finished
in the voting and at the end of the year, the institution with the
highest totals will receive the ‘PBC Institution of the Year
Sportsmanship Award.’
