Saints Ranked No. 2, Set for NCAA Selection Show

DAHLONEGA, GA – With the North Georgia softball team on the brink of another NCAA postseason run, the NFCA Division II Top 25 Poll has the Saints as the No. 2 team in the land for a third consecutive week.

North Georgia (47-9) continues to hold strong as the No. 2 team in the country for a third straight week, while the latest NCAA Regional Rankings have the Saints as the No. 1 team in the Southeast Region once again.

Alabama-Huntsville tallied all 16 first-place votes in the latest ranking and are the nation's No. 1 team for the sixth straight week. Following North Georgia at No. 2 is Midwestern State at No. 3, Valdosta State at No. 4, and Rollins dropped one spot to round out the top five. With the ranking, the Saints extend their consecutive top five rankings to 28 straight weeks.

After claiming the program's third straight PBC Tournament Championship to secure another trip to the NCAA Tournament, the Saints are now just days away from the NCAA Selection Show where the 64-team field will be announced. The live selection show will take place at on Monday morning at 10:00 a.m.

North Georgia is looking to host their third straight NCAA Southeast Regional, after going undefeated during the Regional and Super Regional rounds each of the last two seasons at Haines & Carolyn Hill Stadium.

The championship field contains 64 teams from eight different regions of the country. Each region will be split into two regionals with the winners meeting in a best-of-three super regional at the higher seed. The winners of those eight super regionals will advance to the national championships May 26-30 at the Moyer Complex in Salem, Va.
