Burson Listed in NCAA All-Time Coaching Records

Burson has been listed in the NCAA Division II National Coaching
Records released by the national office.
After just three years of NCAA competition, Burson sits alone in
second place in a pair of different categories for coaches with at
least five years as a four-year college coach, but fewer than five
years at the Division II level.
With 324 wins, she is second in NCAA Division II history only to
Ferne Labati of Seton Hill, while in the highest percentage
category, Burson sits only behind Chris Kielsmeier with a winning
percentage of .7232 after 14 years of coaching, and one season of
full NCAA competition.
Burson will go head-to-head this season with a trio of coaches
listed in the all-time winning percentage category, including a
pair of Peach Belt Conference coaches.
John Carrick of Georgia College & State University is listed
11th all-time in winning percentage at .6044, with 437 victories
and 286 losses in 25 years, while Jay Sparks of Columbus State has
accumulated a .6166 winning percentage in 19 seasons with 349
victories and 217 defeats to fall 24th all-time.
Delta State’s Sandra Rushing, who is the reigning DII
Bulletin National Coach of the Year, sits 36th all-time, gathering
296 wins to 233 losses in 19 seasons for a winning percentage of
.5595. The Lady Saints will open their 2008-09 season at Delta
State University, against a squad that finished last season with a
record of 33-1, and an appearance in the Final Four.
