Victory Slips Away From Lady Saints In Final Ticks
DAHLONEGA, GA – The Lady Saints had
victory slip through their hands Wednesday evening as Georgia
College & State University knocked down a layup with just three
ticks on the clock to come away with a 65-63 victory in Memorial
Hall.
North Georgia led 63-58 with two minutes remaining, but the
Bobcats came alive, completing a 7-0 run to end the game and come
away with the two-point victory. The Lady Saints fall to 3-8 on the
season, and 0-4 in the PBC, while GCSU improves to 6-4 overall, and
1-2 in the league.
In a game that saw the lead change hands just four times, North
Georgia shot 39.2 percent from the field, while Georgia College
managed 35.3 percent. The Lady Saints won the battle on the boards
43-41, but the clutch play of the Bobcats in the final minutes
sealed the victory.
North Georgia was led by a pair of double-doubles from Syretha
Marble and Whitney Randolph who each tallied 15 points and 11
rebounds.
The Lady Saints will eye their first PBC and road win of the year
on Saturday, January 10, traveling to UNC Pembroke to take on the
Lady Braves at 2:00 p.m.
