DAHLONEGA, GA – The Lady Saints ended their 8-game home stand to start the year with a 73-52 blowout victory over Reinhardt on Monday night at Memorial Hall.

North Georgia (5-3) outplayed the visiting Eagles all night en route to a 21-point win, this after defeating Georgia College last week to give them their fifth win of the season.

The Lady Saints opened the 2011-12 season with eight home games and finished with a record of 5-3 during that span, but most importantly picking up a win in their only conference game of the eight.

Jaymee Carnes again led North Georgia with another double-double. Carnes scored a game-high 34 points and also grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds.

Carnes has tallied a double-double in all but one of her eight games this season. She also added to her NCAA Division II-leading 26.0 points per game tonight with another game over 30 points.

The sophomore from Gainesville, Georgia, has been simply dominant all season long and did not disappoint against NAIA-member Reinhardt tonight.

Lindsey Moss bounced back nicely after she struggled against Young Harris in her last outing.

Moss scored nine points in just 13 minutes of action as the senior is still recovering from a couple of different injuries. Moss also left tonight's game after she was poked in the eye, but the injury doesn't seem to be serious.

The Lady Saints defense held the visiting Eagles to just 34.5 percent (20-58) from the field and just a lowly 15.4 percent from the three-point line (2-13).

In Jasmine Manning's second start of the season she scored seven points and finished five-for-six from the free-throw line.

Jessica Trice also finished with seven points in her second start of the season as well. Trice followed up her 21-point outburst with another good performance, nearly cementing herself in the starting lineup.

Reinhardt was led by Ann Wilcher who finished with 12 points in the game.

North Georgia will play one more non-conference game before entering the Peach Belt Conference season for good on January 3 at Clayton State.

The Lady Saints travel to Newberry on Friday, December 30, in their final game of the 2011 calendar year. That tip-off is set for 2:00 PM.
