DAHLONEGA, GA – The North Georgia Department of Athletics is set to host a Military Appreciation Day this Saturday to recognize individuals serving in the United States Military and those who have given the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms we enjoy today.

North Georgia will hold the Military Appreciation Day during Saturday's Peach Belt Conference basketball doubleheader in Memorial Hall against in-state rival Clayton State University.

All active United States military and veterans with a valid military ID will be given a complimentary ticket to the games.

Before both games a color guard will represent all branches of the United States Military to honor the men and women who have sacrificed, fought, bled and died for our great country. The North Georgia Patriot Choir will also be on hand to perform the National Anthem before the start of each contest.

The women's game is set to tip off at 1:30 p.m., as North Georgia will take on defending NCAA Division II National Champion and 4th-ranked Clayton State. The men's game will follow at approximately 3:30 p.m. with the Saints looking to get back on track and snap a four-game losing streak.

Live statistics and a live video broadcast of both games will be available at SaintsSports.com for fans who cannot attend the events in Memorial Hall.

North Georgia is distinctive among its peer institutions in that it is one of only six senior military colleges in the United States. The Army ROTC Corps of Cadets comprises about 13 percent of the student population at North Georgia. Because of this distinction, North Georgia has been designated by the state legislature as The Military College of Georgia.
