Golf Players Share Special Connection with Local Make-A-Wish Child
DAHLONEGA, Ga. – For the last nine years, NCAA Division II has raised over $2.4 million dollars for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, helping to grant wishes for children suffering from life-threatening illnesses. Every 40 minutes, the foundation grants a wish to a child with wishes ranging from getting to serve as a police officer for a day, to taking a family trip, to even scoring a touchdown for the kid’s favorite team.

Olarte Named to Peach Belt All-Conference Team
PINE MOUNTAIN, Ga. – The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) released the 2013 women's golf All-Conference team Friday evening during a banquet on the eve of the PBC Golf Championships at Callaway Gardens. University of North Georgia senior Catalina Olarte was named to the PBC All-Conference Second Team for the second time in her career.

Saint Women Host Make-A-Wish Child and West Georgia in Home Match
DAHLONEGA, Ga. - The University of North Georgia women's golf team hosted the University of West Georgia at Achasta Golf Club Friday afternoon in a dual match that the Wolves claimed by nine strokes. Prior to the match, which also included men's teams from North Georgia, West Georgia and Clayton State University, the Saints spent time with Make-A-Wish child Robert from Flowery Branch.

GREENVILLE, Tenn. – Behind a 79 from senior Catalina Olarte, the University of North Georgia women's golf team opened Tusculum College's Agnes McAmis Memorial tournament with a 326 to sit ninth following Monday's opening round.

Women's Golf Finishes in a Tie for 12th at Agnes McAmis Memorial
GREENVILLE, Tenn. - Senior Catalina Olarte knocked two strokes off her score from Monday's opening round, but it was not enough as the University of North Georgia women's golf team finished in a tie for 12th-place in Tusculum College's Agnes McAmis Memorial tournament following a second round 329 on Tuesday.

Men’s Golf First, Women Third Through Opening Round of Chick-fil-A Spring Invitational
DAHLONEGA, Ga. – The University of North Georgia men's and women's golf teams opened their own 2013 Chick-fil-A Spring Invitational at Achasta Golf Club with strong performances and were able to just beat out the weather. The Saint men finished the first 18 holes first in the men's field while the Saint women ended the opening round in third.

The Saints only had to battle the course and 12 other teams, including four other Peach Belt Conference schools, as they opened the first round of the Armstrong Pirate Women's Golf Invitational in 11th Monday.

The result was the Saints moving up one spot in the final standings to 10th.

The tournament was contested at the Slammer & Squire Golf Course.

“Family Day” Draws Crowd for Pair of Exciting Games
DAHLONEGA, Ga. – In an effort to engage the local community more, the North Georgia College & State University Athletic Department celebrated “Family Day” on Saturday, Jan. 5 during the Saints’ Peach Belt Conference doubleheader with Georgia College. The event drew a crowd of close to 400 which helped cheer on the Saints during two exciting games inside Memorial Hall Gymnasium.

The North Georgia College & State University women's golf team wrapped up the grueling first round in 12th place with a team stroke count of 315.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – It was another long day out on the links for the North Georgia College & State University women's golf team in the 22-team BSC Southern Shootout. The Saints wrapped up the tournament with a team score of 631 between the two days that included a team score of 316 on Monday to finish 14th overall.

Men’s Golf Finishes Smoky Mountain Intercollegiate Seventh, Women 13th
SEVIERVILLE, Ten. – The North Georgia College & State University men's and women's golf teams started their 2012-13 campaigns this week at the two-day Smoky Mountain Intercollegiate hosted by Carson-Newman. The men's squad finished the two-round tournament in seventh place while the women ended up 13th.
