Women’s Golf Ends First Round of World Golf Village in 13th

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The University of North Georgia women's golf team opened its 2013 spring schedule with a combined score of 347, placing the Saints 13th through the opening round of Flagler College's World Golf Village at the Slammer & Squire.

Seminole State College of Florida led the field in round one with a 296 combined score behind a two-under par 70 by Chanya Angwarawong. The Raiders claimed three of the top five positions with two tied for fourth place at two-over par, 74.

Host school Flagler is currently in second with a 304 while fellow Peach Belt Conference schools Armstrong Atlantic State and the University of North Carolina Pembroke are tied for third with 310 stroke counts.

Senior Catalina Olarte currently paces the Saints with an 83 to sit tied for 37th while Casey Truelove and LeeAnn Noble shot matching 86's. Truelove and Noble are currently tied for 48th.

Freshmen Anna Belle Higgins and Bridget Sandy rounded out the competing five for North Georgia with a 92 and 97 respectively.

The field will play the second and final round tomorrow starting at 7:45 a.m.
