North Georgia Wraps Up Play At Saint Leo Fall Invitational With 16th Place Finish
SAINT LEO, Florida – (UNGAthletics.com) – The University of North Georgia women's golf team wrapped up play at the Saint Leo University Fall Invitational with a final round score of 333 which was good for 16th place out of 18 teams. The tournament was contested over the par-72, 6, 132 yard course at Lake Jovita Country Club.
After sitting in a tie for 15th place with Tampa University at the tournament's midway point, the Nighthawks were edged by a single stroke by the Spartans for 15th place.
Abbey Gill rebounded from yesterday's 95 to improve 13 strokes and post a team-best 82 in the final round. Casey Truelove (81-83—164, t51st) and Taylor Allen (91-83—174, t75th) each posted identical final round 83's for the Nighthawks.
Mariana Pelaez rounded out the scoring for North Georgia with her second straight 85 for a 36-hole total of 170 which was good for 69th place in the 96-player field.
Jessica Bradley of Lynn University claimed individual medalist honors which propelled her squad to the team title behind a one-hole playoff victory on the par-4, 18th hole where they topped Flagler in a heavy rain.
North Georgia will wrap up the fall 2013 schedule on October 28-29 when then team takes part in the Lee University Fall Invitational.
