PBC Releases Women's Soccer Preseason Poll
Lady Saints to open regular season against Erskine
College
DAHLONEGA, GA – The Peach Belt Conference
has released the 2008 women's soccer preseason poll of the
league’s head coaches, and North Georgia finds themselves
picked to finish 7th in the conference.
The Lady Saints will have one of the toughest schedules in the
nation for the 2008 season. The best teams in the country will make
their way to the North Georgia Soccer Complex this fall as three
teams from last season's NCAA Tournament final 16 will make an
appearance in the span of seven days.
North Georgia will play host to Erskine College on August 29, at
4:00 p.m. to open the regular season. The Lady Saints will look to
last season's PBC All-Conference performer, Lauren Schenk, and
All-Region performer Casey Smith to lead a group of talented young
players.
The 2008 coaches’ poll is listed below. Coaches were
not allowed to rank their own teams. The 2008 women’s soccer
season begins on Aug. 28 with Peach Belt Conference play beginning
Sept. 17 and continuing on to the PBC Tournament which begins on
Nov. 4.
