Abrahart Selected as Moe's Athlete of the Week
DAHLONEGA, GA – Samantha
Abrahart has been named the Moe's Southwest Grill North Georgia
Athlete of the Week after sending the Lady Saints to two wins last
week the sports communications office announced on Tuesday
afternoon.
The freshman transfer from the University of South Carolina
carried the North Georgia offense to a pair of wins of wins last
week, scoring two goals and adding an assist against Young Harris
in a 6-1 win. Her goals in the 15th and 80th minutes, accompanied
by her assist on the game-winning goal in the 12th minute sent her
to a five-point performance.
She then came back against USC Aiken over the weekend in the Lady
Saints' Peach Belt Conference opener and scored the game's first
goal in the 7th minute, sending a header to the back of the net for
her fourth goal of the year in a 3-1 victory.
The Duluth, Ga., native is tied for third in the conference in
goals with four, points with nine, and sits fourth in goals per
game at 1.00. She has played and started in all four games
this season having logged 232 minutes of action.
