DAHLONEGA, GA – The North Georgia women's soccer team pulled off their most dramatic win of the year on Saturday afternoon, using a goal 12 seconds into double overtime to shock 15th-ranked UNC Pembroke and escape with a 1-0 victory in Peach Belt Conference action.

In what has become one of the best rivalries in the Peach Belt Conference in recent years, the Lady Saints took the kickoff in double overtime and Kelsey Martin played a perfect cross to Emily Dover who tapped home the game's only goal to send North Georgia into celebration.

The score for Dover in the 101st minute was her fourth goal in the last three games as the senior has suddenly caught fire and carried the Lady Saints to a perfect 5-0 start on the year and 2-0 mark in the Peach Belt Conference.

The Lady Saints snap a four-game winning streak in the all-time series with the Braves and are now the lone unbeaten team in the league after UNC Pembroke falls to 4-1-1 overall and 1-1 in the PBC.

North Georgia looked to have taken the lead in the 79th minute when Emily Bowen found Cicely Taliafero in the box for the score, but an offside's flag went up after the play to keep the game scoreless and send the match to overtime.

Kayla Colon led the Braves with three of their five shots on goal, including a strike in the 17th minute that was deflected by North Georgia keeper Kirsten Ross. The rebound found the feet of Andrea Collen who fired a laser to the near post, but Ross came away with a huge save again to keep the game scoreless early.

Ross tallied five saves for the game, as the senior recorded her second complete-game shutout of the season. She lowered her goals against average to 0.39 for the year with 110 minutes of perfection in goal.

North Georgia recorded 16 shots in the game, with five shots on goal. Dover put three shots on target, including the game-winner, while Kelly Penston and Bowen also found the target, but they resulted in saves for Braves' goalkeeper Brittany Bennett. The UNC Pembroke stopper had four saves in the game, but allowed the double overtime goal.

The Lady Saints return to action next Tuesday, traveling to Belmont Abbey to battle the Crusaders. Kickoff is slated for 4:00 p.m. as North Georgia looks to remain unbeaten on the year.
