AUGUSTA, GA – Following a week that saw the North Georgia women's soccer team upset 15th-ranked UNC Pembroke, Kirsten Ross has been named the Peach Belt Conference Goalkeeper of the Week announced on Tuesday afternoon from the league office.

Ross continued her stellar play last week against the nationally ranked Braves as she shut down UNC Pembroke to give the Lady Saints a 1-0 double overtime win in Peach Belt Conference action.

The win handed the Braves their first loss of the year and catapulted North Georgia to the top of the PBC standings as the only undefeated remaining in the conference.

Ross tallied five saves in the all-important match-up last weekend against UNCP, including back-to-back saves in the 17th minute to keep the Braves off the scoreboard.

The senior stopper from Lilburn, Georgia, leads the PBC with a 0.33 goals against average and has allowed just two goals on the year, a mark that also leads all goalkeepers in the league.

Following the double overtime thriller against UNC Pembroke, North Georgia traveled to Belmont Abbey and Ross recorded another shutout to lead the Lady Saints into the national rankings as the No. 16 team in the country.

Ross and the Lady Saints will put their unbeaten mark on the line Saturday afternoon, traveling to the University of Montevallo for a Peach Belt Conference match. North Georgia is 3-1-1 all-time against the Falcons and hold an 11-7 goal advantage in those five games.
