Women’s Soccer’s Morrow Named PBC Defender-of-the-Week

AUGUSTA, Ga. – For the second week in a row, the 11th-ranked North Georgia College & State University women's soccer team has claimed a weekly award from the Peach Belt Conference office. This week, sophomore defender Megan Morrow has been named the PBC Defender-of-the-Week.

Morrow led the nationally-ranked Saints' defense in a pair of wins last week that included the team's fifth shutout victory of the season in their PBC opener.

With the help of Morrow, North Georgia held Carson-Newman to just nine shots in an 8-2 road victory on Wednesday, Sept. 12. The Snellville, Ga. native then led both the offense and defense on the pitch against PBC newcomer Young Harris on Saturday, Sept. 15 as she recorded the game-winning goal and assisted on two more while also holding the Mountain Lions to just eight shots.

North Georgia is now second in the league in goals allowed average (0.43).

The Saints have just one game this week, a home PBC matchup with Georgia College on Saturday, Sept. 22. Kick off is slated for 1:00 p.m.
