Kelly Penston Named Peach Belt Women's Soccer Player Of The Week
MARTINEZ, Georgia – (UNGAthletics.com) – University of North Georgia women's soccer player Kelly Penston has been honored by the Peach Belt Conference office as its Player of the Week as announced this morning by the league office.
The senior forward began the week by putting home the tying goal in the 75th minute as North Georgia rallied to beat Lincoln Memorial 2-1 on Wednesday evening. She then scored the game-winner in the 62nd minute as UNG downed Lees-McRae 1-0 on the road on Saturday.
Penston has now scored in three straight games for UNG and is tied for second in the PBC in goals and for fifth in assists. The game-winner was the senior's second of the year, tied for the league lead.
