Lady Saints Soar Past Falcons 9-0 for PBC Victory
DAHLONEGA, GA – The North Georgia women's tennis team picked up another Peach Belt Conference victory on Saturday afternoon, blanking the University of Montevallo 9-0 at the Yahoola Creek Tennis Complex.
The Lady Saints improve to 5-2 on the year, and move a game over the .500 mark at 2-1 in Peach Belt Conference action. The Falcons drop to 2-6 overall with the loss and stay winless in league action at 0-3 on the year.
North Georgia dominated in doubles play, surrendered just six total games to take a commanding 3-0 lead into singles action.
The Lady Saints would not let up their, taking all six singles matches in straight sets to blank Montevallo 9-0. North Georgia only surrendered more than two games in a single set one time, while Laura Chapman, Juliana Chiang, and Matilda Watson all took 6-0 victories in their opening sets.
The Lady Saints return to action on Sunday afternoon, welcoming 9th-Clayton State to town for another Peach Belt Conference match. First serve against the Lakers at the Yahoola Creek Tennis Complex is set for 2:00 p.m.
