Track & Field competes at Cumberlands
WILLIAMSBURG, Ky – North Georgia College & State University traveled to Kentucky over the weekend to compete at the University of the Cumberlands in their most competitive events of the year.
On the men’s side, North Georgia placed 12th out of 19 teams as Dillon Bowers took 2nd place in the pole vault, clearing 3.8 meters, while Joey Robinson finished 5th, clearing 3.65 meters. Alex Kenna competed in the 5000-meter race and crossed the line in 23rd place with a time 17:41.82.
On the women's side, Casera Sparks came in 10th overall in the discuss, throwing a personal best 25.65 meters, while Bea Nelligan led the Lady Saints on the track, finishing 17th in the 5000-meter event with a time of 21:33.60. Loren Blake and Savannah Bryce finished the same event within 50-seconds of Nelligan, with Blake finishing in 19th in 21:41.17 and Bryce following in 20th place with a time of 22:23.82.
Crystal Crouch competed in the 1500-meter race and finished 25th, crossing the line in 5:52.14.
